IN THIS LESSON

Some boards meet too much, talk in circles, and get nothing done. Others barely meet at all and wonder why everything’s fallin’ apart. You wanna do this right? Three meetings. That’s all you need.

1️⃣ The Impact & Bonding Meeting – Build the Crew

You can’t run a tight operation if your people don’t trust each other. This meeting? It’s about mission, strategy, and connection. Get aligned. Get inspired. Make sure everyone knows why they’re in the room and what the mission demands. A strong board ain’t just smart—it’s united.

2️⃣ The Financial OversightMeeting – Count the Money

Money makes the mission move, capisce? If the board ain’t watching the numbers, trouble’s right around the corner. This meeting is all about budget, cash flow, risks, and financial oversight. No fluff, just the facts—because a board that doesn’t track its money won’t have any.

3️⃣ The ED Evaluation & Governance Meeting – Keep Leadership Sharp

You think a board's job is to sit back and hope the Executive Director gets it right? Think again. This meeting is where you evaluate the ED, review leadership transitions, and make sure governance stays tight. Strong leadership makes or breaks an organization—so you better pay attention.

That’s it. Three meetings. No more, no less. Run ‘em right, and your board won’t just be legal—it’ll be lethal (in a good way). Waste time? You’ll drown in meetings that don’t matter. And in my world, that’s bad businessWhatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
